Millennium BMR is a premium hybrid forage sorghum is primarily used for silage and green chop. The "Brown Midrib" characteristic of this plant reduces the lignin content by 40%-60% over conventional hybrid forage sorghums, depending on environmental and cultural conditions. Millennium has excellent green leaf retention with very sweet and soft stems. Digestibility is increased by reducing the quantity of indigestible lignin in the total plant. This reduction of lignin, increases cellulose and hemicellulose content, both being more digestible than lignin. This hybrid has exceptional levels of sugar and structural carbohydrates in the stem and palatability is very high. These sugars provide additional energy and nutrition. Large tannin free grain panicles add to the nutritional content and energy of the silage produced.
